Beauty in Starkness

One of the realities of fall and winter is that we observe some things that were so beautiful in summer, fade away and become dormant or die. In a sense, it seems cruel and morbid that the vibrant life and beauty of summer withers and dies. There are a couple of things to keep in mind as we see this happen. First of all, it is a reminder of our own mortality and that we also will die some day. This is by design of an Almighty God. We are not created only for this world, but for the next. The second thing is that even in starkness and dormancy, there is a certain majesty and beauty. What a mighty God we serve!
