Maple Lane Dairy was begun in 1931 by Oscar Martin and Aldred Shantz, his brother in law. The name was inspired by the maple trees lining the lane of his farm on present day King Street North in Waterloo. It produced dairy products for many years and was bought by Beatrice Foods in the 1990’s.
